Donald Trump, President of the United States, and Mostafa Hejri, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI), discussed the latest developments in Iran during a phone call, and Trump expressed his support for the Kurdish people.

On Tuesday, the 13th of Rashammeh, The Wall Street Journal reported that President Donald Trump had expressed readiness to support the Peshmerga forces of Eastern Kurdistan so that, simultaneously with U.S. and Israeli airstrikes, they could take control of their areas on the ground.

Today, an informed source told Rojhelat News that Trump and Mostafa Hejri, Secretary-General of the KDPI, discussed the latest field developments in Iran and Kurdistan in a telephone conversation. The Rudaw Media Network and later CNN also confirmed the report.

Earlier, Axios revealed for the first time that President Donald Trump had held a phone call on Sunday with Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and Bafel Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. The discussions reportedly focused on the current situation in Iran.

Regarding Donald Trump’s plan and the parties of Eastern Kurdistan, CNN published a report confirming the Trump–Hejri phone call and stating that the Kurdish sides are organized and have armed forces ready. Therefore, they could advance on the ground while the United States and Israel operate in the air within Iranian and Kurdish territory. In this way, the conflict would shift to the ground and enter a new phase.

After five political parties of Eastern Kurdistan announced the formation of an alliance of Iranian Kurdistan’s political forces, it triggered widespread domestic and international reactions. According to Rojhelat News, this alliance was also discussed during the phone call between the U.S. President and the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran.
